Axie Infinity content creator, Spraky, organized a simple Christmas celebration on behalf of their guild, AxU, for the community of Brgy. Valle Cruz in Cabanatuan City.

Members of the Axie Infinity community, including popular Pro player, SpamAndRice, contributed in funding the gift giving event that took place last December 18. Noche Buena (Christmas Eve Dinner) packages were given to about 100 families, food was served to the attendees, and games were played for the kids to celebrate one of the biggest holidays in the Philippines.

“I am wholeheartedly thankful to the Axie Infinity community for choosing to help us out of the many communities in Cabanatuan City,” Fernando Atienza, Brgy Captain of the beneficiary community of the event, said in Tagalog. “We are lucky to recieve an early Christmas present. I can see the happiness in my community as this is the first gathering of this kind since the pandemic started.”

Spraky shared that they chose to help this particular community as it was one of the more badly hit communities during a storm that passed by last September 25. The guild regularly does community charity events and it made perfect sense to help the residents of this area after what they went through during the storm.

“We do these kinds of events ever since our guild, AxU, started,” Spraky shared with the Axie Archives. “Even when the Philippine Axie community was first starting, there was already a ‘pay it forward’ mentality that we try to keep going. As much as possible, we try to do events like these every other month.”

This isn’t the first Christmas event that the Axie community did for the Philippines, and it won’t be the last. It can be remembered that Spike, a web3 content creator and streamer, surpassed their goal of 5,000 toys as part of the Axiemas toy drive last year.
